Schools and School Support Organisations

I was contracted by Sussex Central YMCA to facilitate reflective forums for Teaching Assistants within a specialist school in Brighton.

I have counselled students on behalf of Student Services at the University of Sussex and work regularly with young people on the many issues they can face when away from home, including anxiety management and problems with confidence and self esteem.

Health Organisations

I have worked extensively within the NHS. For over 15 years I was a Senior Counsellor in the Adult Psychology Department within South Downs NHS Trust (now Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust).

Prior to that I worked as a counsellor within a specialist service funded by the Royal Society of the Blind and based at the Sussex Eye Hospital.

My services for the Churches’ Ministerial Counselling Service is specific for the clergy and their families, providing solution-focussed, short term therapy.

End of Life and Bereavement

My 16 years of experience with people who are bereaved have given me a deep understanding of the many forms that grief can take.

I currently provide supervision and mentoring for the counselling staff at St Catherine’s Hospice, Crawley and previously facilitated a bereavement group for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton, helping parents of children who had died of leukemia.

At ARKA Original Funerals, Brighton I provide a bereavement service for families and friends which includes a monthly bereavement support group.
